Litecoin is a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency created in 2011 by Charlie Lee as a "lighter" version of Bitcoin. Often referred to as "digital silver" to Bitcoin's "gold," it was designed to be a faster, more efficient medium for everyday transactions while maintaining the core principles of decentralization and security.
The Technology:
Litecoin is a fork of the Bitcoin Core codebase with several key technical modifications.
