All 19 Indicators Explained

Directional indicators vote BUY/SELL/Neutral and affect the overall signal. Context indicators are institutional filters shown separately — they do not vote. Select them in Trading Signals settings.

📈 Trend-Following

MACD
Trend + momentum. Compares two EMAs via signal line crossovers. Reliable combined trend and momentum indicator.
Supertrend
Strongest single trend indicator. Trailing line above/below price. Very clean signals with minimal noise.
EMA20
20-period Exponential Moving Average. Fast-responding trend filter. Weights recent prices more.
SMA50
50-period Simple Moving Average. Slower, smoother trend filter. Reduces false signals.
Ichimoku
Full trend system with cloud, conversion and baseline. Trend direction + support/resistance simultaneously.
Parabolic SAR
Trailing stop indicator flipping above/below price. Excellent for identifying trend reversals.
HMA
Hull Moving Average. Dramatically reduces lag vs EMA/SMA. Ideal for fast-moving markets. NEW

⚡ Momentum

RSI
Relative Strength Index. Measures speed and magnitude of price changes 0–100. Most widely used momentum indicator.
Stochastic
Compares closing price to range over a period. Identifies overbought/oversold via K/D crossover.
CCI
Commodity Channel Index. Measures deviation from average. Effective for cyclical markets.
Williams %R
Momentum oscillator -100 to 0. Excellent at spotting overbought/oversold reversals quickly. NEW
ROC
Rate of Change. Measures % price change over a period. Positive = accelerating up, negative = down. NEW

📊 Volume & Volatility Bands

Bollinger Bands
Volatility bands above/below a MA. Widen in high volatility, narrow in consolidation. Classic breakout tool.
MFI
Money Flow Index. Volume-weighted RSI. Identifies buying/selling pressure from price and volume.
VWMA
Volume-Weighted MA. High-volume candles carry more weight. Tracks where majority of trading occurred. NEW
Keltner Channels
Volatility bands using ATR around EMA. Smoother than Bollinger. Good for breakout detection. NEW
Donchian Channels
Highest high / lowest low over a period. Classic breakout indicator — price breaks upper = strong momentum. NEW
Squeeze Momentum
Combines Bollinger + Keltner to detect low-volatility squeezes before explosive breakouts. Histogram shows direction. NEW

📌 Institutional Context (Non-voting)

ADX
Average Directional Index. Measures trend strength (not direction). ADX above 25 = strong trend. Context only.
VWAP
Volume Weighted Average Price. Institutional fair-value benchmark. Most volume traded here.
OBV
On-Balance Volume. Tracks cumulative buying/selling pressure. Diverges from price before reversals.
ATR
Average True Range. Measures volatility. High ATR = large swings. Useful for sizing stop losses.
💡 Fixed logic indicators Fixed logic have predetermined rules. All others have adjustable parameters in the Customise tab of Bot Settings.

Live Pricing

Coinstrooper connects to CoinRanking via a persistent WebSocket — a continuous live data stream that pushes prices in real time.

Live P&L
Open positions panel refreshes every 5 seconds using WebSocket prices. Near real-time P&L.
Instant TP/SL
TP and SL fire on every price tick — exits are much closer to your target price, reducing slippage.
Coverage
All 73 managed coins subscribed simultaneously. Any coin is ready the moment you open a position.
Fallback
If WebSocket drops temporarily, system falls back to exchange API prices automatically.
💡 Note: WebSocket prices are aggregated across exchanges by CoinRanking and may differ slightly from your specific exchange at the exact moment of execution.

Customise — Fixed Logic
Supertrend, Ichimoku, Parabolic SAR, VWMA, Keltner, Donchian, Squeeze — info cards explaining BUY/SELL trigger. No adjustable params.

Timing

Timeframe
1m — scalping (free) · 5m — short trades (Pro) · 15m — swing (Pro)
Min Hold Time
Min minutes before SELL signal can close. TP/SL still fires immediately. Recommended: 3–10 min for 1m.
Max Hold Time
Force close after this many minutes. Set 0 to disable.
Cooldown
Minutes before re-entering same coin after closing.
Trading Hours

Confirmed Entry
Requires N indicators to agree. Fewer trades, higher confidence.
Multi-Timeframe
Checks higher TF before entering. Higher TF SELL blocks the trade.
💡 Recommended: Fixed $5–$10 · TP 1.5% · SL 0.8% · Min hold 3min · Confirmed Entry 2 · 1m timeframe.

Bot Controls — Start, Pause, Stop, Panic

▶ Start
Bot runs every minute. Opens on BUY signals. Manages all open positions for TP/SL/trailing/signal exit.
⏸ Pause
No new trades. Existing positions continue to be monitored — TP, SL, trailing stop all fire.
Use when you want current trades to finish naturally.
⏹ Stop
Bot stops completely. Open positions not monitored. TP/SL will not fire.
Only use when taking full manual control.
🚨 Panic Close
Emergency only. Closes ALL positions at market price and stops bot.
Always use Pause, not Stop, if you have open positions.

Exit Strategy — How Trades Close

📡 Signal Exit
Closes when signal flips to SELL. Good for momentum following.
⚠️ May close at small loss before TP — normal when signal reverses.
🎯 TP/SL Only
Ignores signal changes. Only closes on TP or SL. Auto-selected when both TP and SL are set.
Exit on Neutral
Sub-option of Signal Exit. Also exits on Neutral signal. Exits faster when momentum fades.
💡 Recommended: Set both TP and SL for auto TP/SL Only mode. Start with TP 1.5–2%, SL 0.8–1%.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often does the bot check signals?
The bot checks signals every minute. TP/SL fires on every WebSocket price tick — exits are near-instant.
Why did the bot not open a trade?
(1) Max positions reached. (2) Insufficient balance. (3) Cooldown active. (4) Confirmed entry — not enough indicators agree. (5) Multi-timeframe blocked. (6) Daily loss limit hit. (7) Outside trading hours.
Why did the bot close before hitting TP or SL?
Exit Strategy is "Signal Exit". To get exits only on TP/SL, set Exit Strategy to "TP/SL Only" in bot settings.
What are the new enterprise indicators?
Williams %R, ROC (Rate of Change), HMA (Hull MA), VWMA, Keltner Channels, Donchian Channels, and Squeeze Momentum. All selectable in the Entry tab and explained in the Customise tab.
What is the Customise tab?
Shows a card for every indicator you selected (after saving). Adjustable indicators have input fields. Fixed-logic indicators show a read-only info card explaining BUY/SELL trigger.
How does live WebSocket pricing work?
A persistent daemon streams prices for all 73 coins continuously. TP/SL fires on every tick. Dashboard P&L refreshes every 5 seconds. Falls back to exchange API if WebSocket drops.
Which exchanges are supported?
MEXC (spot), Bybit (spot + futures), HTX (spot), OKX (spot + swap), Kraken (spot).
Does OKX need a passphrase?
Yes — API Key, Secret Key, and Passphrase set at key creation. Enter all three in the OKX tab.
What is DCA?
DCA automatically buys more when price drops after entry, lowering average cost. Configure in the DCA tab.
What is the minimum position size?
Minimum $3 per trade. Positions under $1.50 are treated as dust — closed without a sell order.
Is my API key safe?
Encrypted with AES-256. Staff cannot see it. Never enable Withdrawal permissions.
Pause vs Stop?
Pause stops new trades but monitors open positions for TP/SL. Stop halts everything — no protection. Always Pause if positions are open.
