The development of programmable escrow features on the XRP Ledger is advancing as developers introduce the ninth release of the Smart Escrow Devnet. This initiative aims to pave the way for more flexible and conditional asset locking mechanisms within the network. Mayukha Vadari, a senior software engineer at RippleX and co-author of the Smart Escrows proposal, underscored the latest update as a crucial step toward the feature’s launch. RippleX, Ripple‘s developer-focused tech division, concentrates on building tools and infrastructure for the XRPL. Despite the progress, Vadari stressed the importance of continued review and testing of the framework before its full deployment.
