If you have sent Bitcoin across a bridge onto another blockchain, what you hold on the far side is no longer Bitcoin but a claim on it. On September 11, 2026, an attacker on the cross-chain protocol Symbiosis created exactly that claim out of thin air. The damage in real money stayed small, at roughly $336,000.
