A new proposal has emerged to protect Satoshi Nakamoto's Bitcoins due to the quantum threat. Bitcoin Core developer Cory Fields has proposed three new mechanisms aimed at preventing potential BTC thefts should quantum computers threaten the cryptographic security of the Bitcoin network in the future. The proposals aim to deter theft attempts that could be carried out using quantum technology by making attackers take on economic risk.
