MARA Holdings buys 1,292 Bitcoin for $98.64 million, raises total BTC holdings to $2.7 billion
MARA Holdings, a leading Bitcoin mining and digital asset infrastructure company, has made one of its largest cryptocurrency purchases in nearly a year by acquiring 1,292 Bitcoin valued at approximately $98.64 million through crypto trading platform FalconX on September 16. On-chain data analytics firm Lookonchain provided details of the transaction, observing that MARA Holdings transferred nearly $99 million worth of Bitcoin to its corporate wallet. The move highlights a potential shift in the company’s approach, as MARA Holdings had spent much of this year selling its Bitcoin reserves—to the tune of 23,093 Bitcoin earlier in 2026, when the firm raised around $1.63 billion to fund new AI infrastructure initiatives.
