London Stock Exchange to offer overnight trading from 2027 to match 24/7 crypto and US rivals
The London Stock Exchange (LSE) plans to introduce a separate night trading venue in the first half of 2027, aiming to extend its hours and compete more directly with round-the-clock crypto trading platforms and US stock exchanges moving toward continuous operations. The proposed night venue will operate from 17:00 to 07:50 London time, supplementing the existing standard trading period of 08:00 to 16:30. The initiative seeks to address increasing demand for after-hours market access, particularly from retail investors who often use mobile trading applications outside of conventional work hours.
