Ethereum’s next major upgrade is about to leave the lab. On August 20, the network will run its most consequential technical change in years.  It happens on a live, public testnet. Anyone can try to break it before it reaches mainnet. The Ethereum Foundation launched Platåberget on August 17, 2026. It’s a public testnet built specifically to trial the Glamsterdam upgrade.
