Analysts see selective corporate Bitcoin buying in 2026, ETFs drive Q3 demand
Analysts expect corporate Bitcoin purchases to pick up toward the end of 2026 and into 2027, especially if the cryptocurrency rallies. However, they anticipate that investors will likely become more selective about which companies gain approval for treasury financing. Bitwise, an asset management firm focused on crypto, reported a broad slowdown in Bitcoin treasury acquisitions during the third quarter. Head of research Ryan Rasmussen cited company filings that showed Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings grew by just 1,666 BTC in Q3—a significant decrease compared to the 83,901 BTC added in the previous quarter. Other public companies collectively purchased only 5,617 BTC in Q3, down from 45,725 BTC in Q2, according to figures Rasmussen provided.
