What Happened
1. CLARITY Act Clears Its Last Big Hurdle
The Breakthrough: Trump backs the CLARITY Act ethics clause
Upside Path: Break above $2.23 trillion opens $2.29 trillion
Market Context
The crypto market edged higher on July 21, with the total crypto market cap near $2.22 trillion, up about 0.85% on the day.
The main spark came from Washington, where President Donald Trump agreed to an ethics provision in the CLARITY Act, clearing the last major hurdle for the US crypto market structure bill.
The market-structure CLARITY Act would decide which US regulator oversees which digital asset, a rulebook the industry has sought for years. The sticking point was an ethics clause that bars the president, vice president, and members of Congress from profiting while in office, and the White House has now agreed to it.
As a result, bill text is expected within days, with the Senate facing a deadline in early August. On the TOTAL chart, the move pushes the total crypto market cap toward resistance at $2.23 trillion, and a clean break there opens room to $2.29 trillion.
So the classic rotation pattern is back. Cash leaving a red stock market often hunts for higher returns, and crypto is the usual destination. That flow lifted the market even as Wall Street fell.
One token stands out. Uniswap (UNI), the token behind the largest decentralized exchange, jumped about 6% to $3.69 and is up roughly 24% over 30 days. It broke past $3.67, a level that had capped it since July 11.
However, the breakout carries a warning. Buying volume has faded since that July 11 level, so the move needs fresh demand to hold. Above $3.67, the next targets sit at $3.84 and $4.10, but the $3.67 level now separates a genuine breakout from a slide back toward $3.41 support.
The Catch: Buying volume fading since July 11
