What Happened
Spot Bitcoin ETF outflows more than doubled on Wednesday, and almost $380 million of leveraged bets were wiped out. Today’s small green tick hides both.
1. ETF Outflows More Than Doubled in a Day
Spot Bitcoin ETFs lost $120.24 million on Wednesday against $46.65 million on Tuesday, more than 2.5 times the previous day’s exit. Two straight red days have taken $166.89 million out.
Market Context
The crypto market trades at $2.65 trillion, 2.03% below yesterday’s high after another session that opened green and closed red.
Fund assets have fallen to $99.33 billion from $103.34 billion on September 3. The buyer behind the August rally has stopped turning up, which leaves the market resting on whoever is left.
Bitcoin accounted for only $74.39 million, leaving $305.03 million spread across everything else. Forced selling from longs is its own fuel, because each round pushes price into the next set of stop orders.
The market lost the $2.68 trillion level on September 7 and the line has capped every attempt since. Reclaiming it comes first, then $2.73 trillion for strength and $2.77 trillion for a real trend. Below, $2.55 trillion is the floor.
UNI has climbed inside a rising channel since August 14 and peaked at $7.48 on September 6. A daily close below $5.93 weakens that structure and opens $4.13 at the channel floor. Reclaiming $6.72 repairs it, and $7.61 clears the channel. Selling volume has thinned since September 8, keeping the bulls hopeful.
Analyst’s View: August inflation lands Friday morning with July already running at 3.4%. A market with no fund bid and three long liquidations for every short is a thin place to meet a surprise.
