The One Stock Jim Cramer Calls His Only Trust Crashes 15%
- CoreWeave stock fell nearly 15% on Wednesday, less than a day after Jim Cramer told CNBC viewers it was the only company of its kind he trusts.
- The slide followed a sell-off in CoreWeave’s bonds that pushed their yield to 15%.
- On Tuesday’s Mad Money Lightning Round, a caller asked Cramer about IREN, a rival AI cloud firm.
- “If you want to be in that business of the neocloud, the only one that I trust and want to be in is CoreWeave,” he said.
What Happened
The selling, however, started in the bond market. On Tuesday, investor Chamath Palihapitiya posted a chart showing yields on $1.25 billion of CoreWeave bonds due 2032 touched 15%, then closed at a record 14.5%.
Nebius fell about 10% and Oracle dropped 7% in the same session, as investors weighed what it costs to finance the AI build-out.
Market Context
CoreWeave rents out Nvidia chips to artificial intelligence (AI) developers, a model the industry calls a “neocloud.” Its total debt reached about $52 billion by June, more than the company’s roughly $37 billion stock market value.
Traders quickly revived “Inverse Cramer,” a long-running joke that treats his picks as a signal to do the opposite. As of this writing, CoreWeave’s CRWV stock was trading for $65.93, down by over 15% in the last 24 hours.
Why It Matters
D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria has warned the equity could be worth zero if AI spending turns.

Why Did CoreWeave Stock Fall a Day After Cramer’s Endorsement?
On Tuesday’s Mad Money Lightning Round, a caller asked Cramer about IREN, a rival AI cloud firm. Cramer pointed him elsewhere.
“If you want to be in that business of the neocloud, the only one that I trust and want to be in is CoreWeave,” he said.
BeInCrypto flagged a similar episode when Intel fell 11% after Cramer turned bullish.
Higher yields mean lenders want more to hold CoreWeave’s debt. Palihapitiya asked whether the AI build-out was creating a private credit bubble.
“Yikes,” Elon Musk remarked.
Can CoreWeave Keep Borrowing to Fund the AI Boom?
CoreWeave’s interest bill jumped to $640 million in the April-to-June quarter, from $267 million a year earlier. It lost $626 million, even as revenue more than doubled to $2.58 billion.
Co-founder Brannin McBee told the Financial Times its chip-backed loans are not “scary debt.”
Wall Street mostly disagrees. Up to 20 of 27 analysts rate it a Buy, with an average target of $143.96. Yet at about $66, CoreWeave now trades below even the lowest target of $74.
