What Happened

Bitrue, a global cryptocurrency exchange, has launched Spot Strategy, a new feature that extends its Bitrue AI trading bot to the spot market. The feature offers AI-generated grid strategies for 15 crypto assets (including XRP, BTC, ETH, ZEC, and other crypto bluechips), each backtested and grouped into short-, medium- and long-term time horizons.

Market Context

Until now, Bitrue AI strategies focused on futures trading. Spot Strategy gives users who prefer to trade without leverage access to the same AI analysis, applied to assets they hold directly rather than to derivatives contracts. Each available strategy, with its backtest data and AI analysis, can be reviewed on the Bitrue AI Spot Strategy page before it is started.

Much of the attention around AI trading bots has centered on futures, where leverage can turn small price moves into large gains or losses. Yet a large share of retail crypto activity still happens in the spot market, where users buy and hold the asset itself.

Spot traders face a different set of decisions. There is no liquidation price to watch, but there is still the question of when to buy, when to sell and how long to stay in a position while the market moves sideways.

Grid trading is one common answer to that question. A grid strategy places a series of buy and sell orders across a price range, buying as the price falls toward the lower end and selling as it rises toward the upper end. In a market that moves back and forth within a range, this can turn price swings into a series of smaller trades.

Spot Strategy is available as a new tab on the Bitrue AI strategy page, next to the existing futures strategies. The system scans the market every 15 minutes and updates strategy parameters as conditions change.

At any given time, the feature presents strategies for 15 crypto assets selected by the AI based on current market conditions. The list covers large-cap assets such as BTC and ETH alongside other actively traded tokens, and it can change as market conditions shift.

Each strategy is assigned to one of three holding periods, so users can match a strategy to how long they plan to stay in the market:

The same asset can appear in more than one horizon, with a different price range for each. A short-term strategy typically works with a narrower range around the current price, while a longer-term strategy allows for wider movement over time.

Every strategy on the page is backtested against 30 days of market data before it is presented. Each strategy card shows the trading pair, holding period, price range, minimum capital required and two backtest figures: the backtested grid APY and the minimum PnL.

For example, the analysis may note that a low ADX reading points to a market without a strong trend, while RSI and KDJ readings near oversold levels suggest room for a rebound. Conditions like these tend to suit grid trading, which relies on price moving back and forth within a range rather than in one direction.

The main difference between Spot Strategy and Bitrue AI’s existing futures strategies is leverage. Futures strategies on Bitrue AI use leveraged positions, which magnify both gains and losses and carry the risk of liquidation if the market moves sharply against a position.

Why It Matters

The difficulty lies in the setup. A trader has to choose which asset to trade, how wide the range should be and how long the strategy should run. A range set too narrow can be left behind by a breakout, while one set too wide may produce few trades at all. Spot Strategy is designed to take on that setup work.

Why spot traders need a different kind of strategy

How Spot Strategy works

Three time horizons

Short term: strategies designed to run for 7 to 15 days.

Medium term: strategies designed to run for one to two months.

Long term: strategies designed to run for three to six months.

Backtested before it is shown

The minimum PnL figure shows the weakest point the strategy reached during the backtest period. Placing it on the card alongside the APY gives users a sense of the drawdown a strategy has experienced, not only its best-case result.

The reasoning behind each strategy

Each card also includes a short AI analysis explaining why the strategy fits current conditions. The analysis draws on technical indicators such as the Average Directional Index (ADX), the Relative Strength Index (RSI), the KDJ indicator and Bollinger Bands.
